When Graham and I (Purpleganda) first articulated the philosophy of The Funky Ones we chose two specific guiding principles for our funky festivities: inclusion and attention to detail.
i can dress myself’s album release last week was the perfect manifestation of this mission. Together with all of our beautiful, loving and talented friends we threw the most epic gala where everyone simply delighted each other.
I would like to thank some of the people who created this summit event but most of all I would like to thank the glamourous Emily Squirmbot Thundermouse Haltom for crafting a truly unforgettable affair. Brava my dear!
- Thank you to Dex Stakker andNeonbunny Lapine for the triumphant dance floor.
- Thank you Bené Rather-Taylor, Becky Neil and Jonathan Chan our brilliant I Can Dance Commanders.
- Thank you Joseph Meyer (aka Josef Fasik) our brilliant producer and sound technician for the evening.
- Thank you Eric Wilson and Michael Angelo Passalalpi for a stunning light show.
- Thank you to Barb and the blue macaw, our gracious hosts.
- Thank you to the Bottlecap Gazebo, Max Poynton, Andrew Grinberg and Jonny Poynton for a gorgeous installation.
- Thank you Isaiah Weintraub and Om Refor helping us shlep all of our gear around.
- Thank you Carlo de la Sera and Stuart Philkill of Vidola Productions for documenting the affair.
- And finally, thank you to everyone who volunteered, promoted and attended “it’s nice actually.” I love all of you so much.

“Grahama’s House” is from the debut album “it’s nice actually!” written and performed by i can dress myself and available April 7th, 2012
We spent all weekend filming our music video. It was a lot of hard work, but after seeing the rough cut, it is going to blow everyone’s freakin scalps off! I don’t want to give away any surprises about what the final product is going to be, but be prepared for some of the dumbest/silliest/amazing grannies/minotaur/centurions/grahama’s house/icdm’s you’ve ever seen. Thanks so much to everyone who toughed it out for two long shooting days, especially the film crew. Expect the video and a viewing party in the next few weeks!

Dearest Funky Ones,
You are invited to our third annual Funky Ones Holiday party!
Where: Castle McLeodister
When: The evening of Saturday December 17th. 9p-lateOur yearly holiday party celebrates our community and it’s accomplishments throughout the year. 2011 has been exceptionally triumphant and this year we present the ‘Host of House Parties Present’ in honor of our distinguished friends who have made this year so marvelous. While we intend the party to be relatively small, we encourage you to include close friends and fresh faces that would be most delighted by our unique happenings.
The legendary bed stage will be returning with musical acts all night. David Colón will begin the evening by regaling us with acoustic holiday favorites, a midnight performance by i can dress myself will follow and the night will close with a delicious and epic dance party DJ’d by Dioscuri.
We will be serving beer and holiday tea, although gifts of spirits and ales are encouraged. As usual, outfits of the freshest holiday garb are smiled upon.
Thank you all so much for collaborating on all our magical adventures!
Eamon and Graham

Planet Booty is a force to be reckoned with. Having started as a genre-defying concept album by brothers Nathan and Dylan Germick that blends electropop, sci-fi synths, space funk and booty bass, the project has evolved into a live show of epic proportions. The 6-piece ensemble fuses electronics, drums, percussion, horns, marimba, guitars, and soulful singing (with a splash of choreography and theatrics) to create a hyper-charged and highly entertaining dance party experience.
_____________________________________________________________________________
San Francisco’s very own silly electroacoustic band produces face-melting dance beats with melodies both whimsical and a little creepy. Join Thundermouse, the Minister of Purpleganda and Graham as they warn you of alien invasions, get down with stegosaurus and leave you boneless. This unique and ecletic trio will freestyle, bow and blast you into the future where (spoiler alert!) there are also dinosaurs.
